i have read in these forums of users unlocking a 8830, but haven't seen any instructions. i'm trying to figure out how to take a sprint 8830 blackberry and get it activated on verizon.

    anyone know how?

Sorry, the two don't activate each other's devices on their networks. The unlocking is done on the GSM side of the phone, not the primary carrier network, which is CDMA.

Exactly as the user above stated unlocking only frees the gsm side of the device. Both networks will not activate the esn on either of the opposite networks.
