I currently have an unlocked 8900 that is on pay as go plan. I haven't registered it with ATT because I have read on forums that if you don't have the data plan you will be charged when using Wi-fi. Currently I do not have a data plan and Wi-Fi is completely free of charge. I am worried if I register, They will see that I am on prepaid with a blackberry and will start messing up my services. Any of you here think it's worth it to register the phone with my carrier? Thanks.

I'm new to Blackberries by the way but I love it so far.

Unless you have a BlackBerry data plan there is little reason to register it on your carrier's network. If you register though AT&T can not pull your WiFi Service Books away. They are hardcoded into the device.
