    Does anybody know if i buy the torch 9800 from att and use it for tmobile will there be any programs i will not be able to use such as the web browser or bbm or mms?

    Well your gonna be using EDGE on the 9800 which is Significantly SLOWER than 3G....... But with RIM's new Browser it shouldn't be that slow.. As far as reception it should be better because ur using EDGE and overall there are far more EDGE towers than 3G on T-mobile...................

    Should be fine as long as you have a BIS or BES plan.

    According to this post in the other thread, the Torch DOES support T-Mobile's 3G

    All I know is I trust what is on the BlackBerry website - and according to this comparison, the Torch DOES support the T-Mobile USA 3G bands, which are 1700/2100 (not to mention the 1900 which is EDGE).

    OK, I just unlocked my 9800 and place the TMO SIM.. No dice! Just EDGE. Hope this helps.

    I'm back to the 9700 as of right now. Was worth the good 'ole college try. I simply think that I am MUCH less efficient with the 9800.
