If I unlock my storm will it work with both ATT and Tmobile? Or is there a different code needed for both?

Code unlocks the phone itself. Then the network is determined by the SIM card

Ok, do you know if there are any extra steps to be taken to get the service books for either carrier? Or once i put the sim in should it automatically download the proper ones?

The service books should download as soon as you register the phone with BIS. You should check these thread called "9530/9500 Users on T-Mobile, At&t, and other carriers click here before posting." to make sure you do everything to get it working 100% after you're all set up.

Once unlocked, always unlocked. Upgrading does not lock it up again.

It's the OS that screwed things up and first thing that should have popped in your mind hehe.

Different 5.0 OS versions, yes. Need to find those and try them out individually until you find one that works. Plenty of threads on step by step on how to upgrade or downgrade a OS manually.

I've given you the suggestion over and over ITS A OS ISSUE. WE DON'T BUILD THE OS, RIM. So load another one or the previous one.

with the current version of your OS it won't work for some reason. there are alot of different variations of the same v5...there are entire threads and I think even a category devoted to OS's...the guys in those areas are experts in dealing with OS's

Not that we wouldn't love to help you..but if its an OS issue deal with the OS guys...if its an unlocking issue and you've been told by us pro's that its an OS problem..thats basically all that I personally would be able to say to help you fix the problem :S

Each OS has it's PROS/CONS, which is why it's always best to read the forum threads...you can read what other members experienced with the OS, and then you decide which you pick.

Some might call me "Old School" but I only load official OS's on my Blackberrys
