I'm trying to unlock a BlackBerry Bold 9700 phone that is locked to the Canadian "Bell" network, so that I can use a "WIND" network SIM card with it.

I have all the codes, but when it asked me for my "network MEP" at startup and I inputted my MEP2 code, with 10 tries remaining, nothing really happened; the prompt/window just disappeared. Now when I follow the alternative instructions in post #16 of this post -- http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...1/#post9347131 -- I get all the way to the MEPD screen but nothing pops up when I type in MEP2 (pressing 'shift' before each letter and 'alt' before the number 2). Similarly, when I reboot the device and it asks me if I want to unlock the SIM and I select 'yes,' the "network MEP" prompt does not pop up.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Oops, nevermind.

I just read this page -- http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...-guide-431356/ -- and I realized that the MEP2 was accepted and the SIM unlocked... It was the MEP4 that I still needed to enter. I was pretty sure I'd typed in MEP4 earlier but I must have mis-typed.

Well, that was a giant waste of time.
