I unlocked my Bell 9630 (network shows as inactive), but when I put in a Rogers SIM card, it shows that the Rogers phone # in the SIM card options, but if I try to use it, I get a message about activating my Bell phone. Any suggestions?

Go to Options/Mobile Network and change Network Technology to GSM/UMTS and select 2G only.

Tried that, and the phones says "Searcing for GSM", then "Call Failed". It gives me an SOS for the reception.

Do you have the latest OS? also try doing a Wipe Handheld, and did you try it with another SIM?

That's the other thing. I've got v4.7.1.57, and I wiped it, then tried to install

    9630cmpttAMEA_PBr5.0.0_rel1242_PL4.2.0.334_A5.0.0. 732.exe

The installer goes through and I connect my BB, but it doesn't say that there is an update. I uninstalled Desktop Manager, but do I need to clean out the registry as well?

I tried my wife's Rogers sim card, and when I go into the sim card options, it shows her number, but on the phone screen it shows my old number. Actually, when no sim card is inserted, it shows my old number as well on the phone screen.

BTW, thanks a lot for you help!

    Cheers

    Try this:

    1. On the Main Screen of the phone press the CALL button
    2. Type on the screen: ##000000
    3. Press the Call Button
    4. For the Mobile Directory Number put in your phone number there
    5. After youve completed that, press the Menu button to save the option and the phone will automatically restart
    6. After restarting it will be updated

I tried entering ##000000 a couple hours ago, and it was the wrong password.

I'm going to try this next:

I just need to get my data cable from work tomorrow.

Hi there, I tried ##111111 as well, and it said something like

"Usage of programming lock code has exceeded the limit".

Does this message mean that it is permentatly locked?

I've also tried UniCDMA to export the bin file that contains the MSL code, but for some reason it isn't able to connect to my phone.

Is there anyone here that provides MSL codes for a fee? If so, what is a fair price?

    Cheers
