I just bought a 9300 phone off a friend's friend. It's been an amazing phone, but I'm not sure if it's unlocked or not. I got an unlock code for the phone, but it won't let me enter it when I type MEP2. So I figure maybe my friend's friend unlocked it? This is what my phone says after I type MEPD:

    SIMDisabled
    NetworkDisabled
    Network SubsetDisabled
    Service ProviderActive
    CorporateDisabled

    I am on os6 beta.

It is not unlocked. My device is running OS 6, and mine says "Service ProviderDisabled".

So how come when I type MEP2, the box where I should enter the unlock code doesn't pop up?

Beautiful! It worked! Now when I look at the SIM card options after pressing MEPD, everything says disabled. Does this mean my phone is officially unlocked?

Also, when the full os 6 is out and I upgrade, will I need to re-unlock my phone?

Yes it is fully unlocked. Once unlocked you will never need to unlock again even after updating or wiping a device

Everything Disabled means your Blackberry is unlocked. No worries if you upgrade/downgrade the OS or reset the phone, Blackberry unlocking is permanent.
