Wonder why he got banned from the forums??? Always recommended to use active unlockers here in the forums. If one is banned there is a reason behind it.

Anyhow glad to hear you got got phone unlocked. Too bad you didn't grab the freebie before

Those are not the correct Unlocking Instructions for the 9800...There are:

    Blackberry Torch 9800 Unlocking Instructions
1-Power the phone with a non-allowed SIM card and you will be prompted to enter the code.
    or
    1- Go to Options/Device/Advanced System Settings/Sim Card
    2-Slide the physical keyboard out.
3-Type the letters "mepd" (without the quotes, you will not see anything on the screen when typing)
4-Once you see the Personalization Screen type "mep [alt] 2" (without the quotes, you will not see anything on the screen when typing). If your 9800 is from Telus, you will need to type "mep [alt] 4"
5- Enter code given to you by CellUnlock.net when prompted
6-We always recommend to do a Battery pull after unlocking your Blackberry Torch 9800

For anyone considering unlocking their phone...please use this as the number 1 reason why you should choose an unlocker with great feedback and a history with Crackberry.com.

Some companies don't keep up to date with new phones and won't be around long enough to troubleshoot your phone

after purchasing the code from you guys and following all the instructions, I got a message saying "CODE ACCEPTED"

    Thanks

    ok thanks.

I think you may have broken your prior record in terms of the quickness in which you responded to an order with the code. I got my code in 9 minutes!!

    Thanks!

Canadian here!! I have a couple of questions...

    1. Can you provide unlock codes for Canadian Torches?
    2. How does a person get a different SIM card? Do we have to set up an agreement with the other company?
    3. Do you know if my Torch will get Sasktel's new 3G+ network if I unlock my phone?

    thanks for your help.

    Oh, 1 other thing...

We live close to the US border and cross over quite a bit.

With this in mind, how would unlocking my phone be beneficial?

    Thanks again!

    Hi there

    Here are your answers:
    1. Yes we can
    2. That's correct, once you sign up with a GSM provider they will give you a SIM card.
    3. If they use a SIM card yes you will.

You can get yourself a Prepaid US SIM card and use it while in the US instead of roaming with your Canadian provider.
