    Hi Guy,

First time in this forum and the first time using BB Bold 9700.
Can someone please confirm if I unlock the phone that the personal emails and BB Messenger are going to work? I would be using it's on AT&T iPhone Data plan.

    Thank you in advance!

Does everything have to be set up again after the phone is unlocked, or is at business as usual?

Business as usual...nothing will change once the phone is unlocked.

You might need to install service books depending on phone and carrier.

    Hi CellUnlock:

I got my unlock code and it worked! Thanks! My question is, if I wipe the phone for resale, will it still be unlocked?

Glad to hear! Yes Blackberry Unlocking is permanent, so even if you wipe/upgrade your Blackberry, it will always stay unlocked

On the 9700 you need to enter mepd and then mep (alt) 4 to enter the SP Unlock Code.

Great! Code accepted means the phone unlocked, but you can go trough the steps again and after typing mepd, everything should say Disabled or Inactive meaning the phone is unlocked.

No it's not normal, but you should also know that unlocking will not affect any features on the phone. Which SIM card are you trying to use?

I did a battery pull and it seemed to have fixed the issue. I am using the SIM card that came with the device. I just found it odd that it did this within an hour of unlocking the device. Thanks for your feed back its greatly appreciated!

Yes it's always recommended to do a battery pull after unlocking
