I have Verizon service and my father just gave me his old Bold 9000 from his AT&T service. Is it possible for me to unlock this phone so I can use it with my Verizon service??

If so, is it hard to do and are there any downsides to doing so?

    Thanks!!

Thanks! I found out how to unlock it, but what I'm not clear on is if I could use an ATT Bold 9000 on the Verizon network if I unlock it. Anyone?

The 9000 is a GSM device and Verizon uses CDMA. They are completely different technologies. Even if it's unlocked the Bold 9000 will NOT work on Verizon, no way around it.

ridesno159 is correct. You would be able to use the phone on another GSM provider but not any that use CDMA. AT&T, T-Mobile, and Tracfone (which is now owned by verizon I think) are the only ones you can use it on.

Sorry not possible since Verizon uses CDMA technology and not GSM.
