    I bought my blackberry curve 8900 online..unlocked.
    I used it several months with my carrier using voice/sms.
    I wanted to add a 15$ BBM/EMAIL service..It wouldn't work.
    My carrier told me that the pin hasn't been unlocked.

    What can I do to unlock the PIN?

    Only the previous carrier.

    Someone has suggested removing IT policy to me..not quite sure what this will do.

    Try calling the previous provider and ask them if they can release the PIN from their system.

    Exactly, you can try, but likely they won't release it. The IT policy has nothing to do with your problem
