The box my Curve 9360 came in has the letters UNLK on it. Does that mean it is unlocked or does it mean something else?

I'd suggest inserting a few different SIM cards in the phone to check. If you can make or receive phone calls with them then yes the phone is unlocked. However, if only one network works, then no it isn't.

As for what it says on the box, I wouldn't take that as gospel. We've ran into too many instances when a customer had thought that what it said on the box was the be all and end all, when the information in the phone itself (which matters) was different.

You can go to settings device advanced settings simcard and type MEPD you won't see yourtself typing it
Anothe menu will pop up is it says inactive or disabled next to network then your phone is unloacked

What happened was I payed some store $15 to unlock the phone, then when I found the box, it said UNLK. I just figured I paid the store to unlock an already unlocked phone.
