Hey guys, I am new here, I heard this was the place to be for blackberry users!

    I currently have a BB 8310 for AT&T

I was on craigslist, and was thinking of purchasing a BB Curve 8530 for Sprint, (The guy would unlock it for me) for 175$

    Had two questions-

    1) I read from some places the spring BB curve 8530 can't even be unlocked? Is this true?

    2) If it can be unlocked, what do you guys think of the phone who use it? I read that it freezes quite a bit, and that is really the only turn off. However, if it does freeze a lot, that'd be a problem since I wouldn't have warranty or anything since its from craigslist!

No, there is no SIM card in an 8530. You can't unlock it, you can flash it, but that would get it to work on another CDMA carrier.

You would be better off with an Att phone anyway. Look into the 8520, it has many of the same features as the 8530.

As mentioned above 8530 is CDMA only and will not take any SIM card. Better to get an 8520.

Unfortunately some people have not other choice because of the coverage in their area.
