I broke my q10 screen and waiting for a new one. I picked up a used z10 but can't seem to get anything to work without a sim in it. I actually had my wife trying for me over the phone and she says there is no way to get to home screen or options as it seems to want a network to connect to. Anyway there is someone bringing the phone to me in the morning. I am out of town of course and can buy a code to unlock just wondering what issues or hurtles I will need to deal with. I have my sim from my q10 on virgin but this is a telus phone. So not sure if I would need to borrow a sim from telus user or what. Just curious if any one has info on if the settings should be accesable without a sim in it. Hoping I didn't get a screwed phone. Thanks

yes I know that but should I be able to access settings without a sim in the phone as it seems she can't get anywhere on the phone. she is not totally inept as she has a z10 herself and knows how to move around with it. I was just looking for info I will get the phone in my hands in the morning and should have a real hands go at it. I won't have internet where I will be only cell service which is useless if I can not get this phone unlocked.
