I have a 8820 from work. Its already restricted in a lot of ways being a official blackberry. Is there a way to unlock this instrument or can you not unlock business or enterprise blackberry's ?

If you can what is a trusted and cheap way to get this done?

    Thanks

I would assume that if you wiped the os and installed a new version, that that should take away the restrictions placed on it. If you are with tmobile they unlock for free. Apart from that you can buy unlock codes fairly cheap online now. Goddluck.

CarrierUnlock is a good service, I used them myself. Quick and reliable. As your device is an enterprise one, search the forums for removing an IT Policy. Yours most likely has one, which may restrict functionality to some extent. Good luck.

Most likely your IT department would prohibit you from doing this, BUT.....

Do you mean unlocking to be able to use it with another provider? or would you like to remove the IT policy?

I'm closing this thread, as the OP already has a similar thread in Business Users Forum, here....
