Why don't someone make a list of what needs to be checked out on this secret menu, go visit a corporate store and find out what changing the settings do on one of their display phones. If your going to brick a phone, might as well not be yours.

In the Battery Monitoring screen one of the options is "Periph Current Breakdown" and it gives real time energy consumption of various components of the phone. The LCD backlight has a huge range depending on what brightness level its on. With the screen dimmed it's saying 16mA and with it at 100% it says 138mA

Cant get the code generator to give me a code. When I put in my app. version it says "error os invalid". My app. version is 4.7.0.148 (203). Anyone care to chime in on this one?? Is it maybe because I have a hybrid (I think...I've installed so many os I dont even remember which is the last one I installed a month ago)

So is it bad to force a battery drain as opposed to letting it drain on its own?

The engineering screens you're accessing are in the native firmware, and are not served by the operating system. If you don't know what you're doing, don't use my reverse engineered generator. It's easy to screw up your device if you don't have a clue what those settings do.
    Oh Thyth,

    What hast thou done?

If you really RE'd the generator, can you tell us the name of the pop song that is used as key material in the hashing algo?

Only if you can no longer revert the setting back to default. Wouldn't that be a bish?!

If you really reverse engineered the generator, you'd know there were four songs.

    1 day: None.
3 days: "Hello my baby" by "The Andrew Sisters"
7 days: "Sk8er Boi" by "Avril Lavigne"
15 days: "So Am I Still Waiting" by "Sum 41"
30 days: "I Love Myself Today" by "Bif Naked"

It's a rather eclectic mix, yes. But that's RIM for you.

Well, of course i knew that - or maybe -
I'm not up to speed with my music.

Actually, I stepped through the routines with their JDE & sim - and set appropriate breakpoints. But I knew what I was looking for.

I must say this is a nice find. RIM is underestimating what normal people can do. I want to go into that menu, but I don't want to mess up anything. Thanks Anyways!!!

By the way, if you force a battery drain all you do is make the phone not recognize the charger. And once you reset the device that option goes back to normal. And I've gone through tons of options and cannot seem to find any options that would cause any significant improvements. E screen was fun to play with but provides little more that a few minutes of entertainment in my book. I had slot of fun with it though!!
