    Hey guys,

I won an unlock code from expressunlockcode the other day and I tried to unlock my T-mobile 8900 with it (inserted ATT SIM, did MEPD, MEP2 then entered code). But right after I entered the code, it said Code Accepted, then that popup disappeared and my phone was frozen. I had to do a battery pull and it afterwards it still said Network Active. Now I can't even use my legit T-Mobile SIM (No Valid SIM). Anyone have this happen to them?

It's usually related to a hardware issue. Sometimes loading a different OS will resolve the issues, but 8 out of 10 it has to be sent back in for a exchange under warranty.

wow...I have to say that I've never had that happen (knock on wood)

Does it allow you to type mep2 again?

Yeah I can boot up and use the phone as if I didn't have a SIM in it. But can't make calls or anything. I've tried loading a different OS to no avail. If it says code accepted, it can't be a bad code right?

Correct. Than it is definitely the hardware issue.

MEP is more for us unlockers not for consumer use.

MEP is for us to be able to pinpoint the exact unlock code for your phone. The MEP reader will not fix your problem. Most of the customers we had that experienced the same problem had to get their phone replaced due to failure.

There is no official statement from T-Mobile or RIM on what hardware issue it is.

Only success we've had unlocking those has always been having the phones physically.
