I would like to share my blog post below from my recent experience with Installing “quick fix” to address activation issue with iOS 11.3 devices on BlackBerry UEM.

I like your blog posts, please keep doing them!

Had the same issue, but because I had a weird constellation with another problem(s), I could not be able two install another hotfix too. So I had to upgrade to 12.8, which solved two fo my problems in one. I still have another two... just to keep me and BB Support busy.

Thanks. I have couple weird issues under 12.7.2 as well, and support said just upgrade to 12.8 and they will all go away. We may wait until 12.9 later this year before upgrading.

Problem with 12.8, since the upgrade only 1/4 of my devices connect regularly to BES and can’t push in-house build iOS apps to our iPhones either. Fixed the upgrade one of my old problems, one new which was iOS 11.3 activation and now I have this communication problem with the BES UEM clients/phones. This I’d again at least as major problem as the iOS 11.3 activation was.

Do you have a QA environment to test upgrade before doing the same in production?

Unfortunately not for BES, but still all the issues we had previously and the iOS 11.3 activation problem forced me in this route.

I highly recommend building a QA environment for testing. It uses the same pool of licenses anyway so there's no extra cost other than utility to keep your servers operational.

Is it possible to somehow assign the same licenses to a different SRP ID? Or did this change since 12.4, when they changed how you assign licenses to your servers?

You don't have to assign specific licenses to any SRP ID assuming they belong to the same organization.

Ok, so this changed post 12.4. In this case I will build a test environment.

Cool. I'm doing the same as well and I'm using this as an opportunity for all these blog posts I've been sharing here.
