Transitions aren't automagically included with 5.0. It's an option that is available for theme developers.

In my opinion, transitions are cute but ultimately annoying as they drain the battery and slow down the process of using the phone. It's faster just to have the menus pop up the old school way.

I like transitions better. It doesn't drain my battery or slow my phone down. I'm using natemz pro v4 black and white. Really nice theme
