I honestly would upgrade, just to see what VZW has done to the OS (i.e. fixing the "clicking" issue) I may be on Sprint but hey why not!!! Whats your take on it?

I usually upgrade each time a new one comes out. It's easy enough to upgrade, and it's easy enough to downgrade if the build is a pile. I will give it a try for sure.

Yep, I agree! I am probably more excited about this release than I was with my own company's release!! Considering VZW took so long to prefect it, it has to be an awesome build! We will see in a few short hours now!!! Can't wait!!!

I read in some other threads that on Twitter the .608 was linked to the VZW release!! I am guessing we will all find out tonight at 11:59 P.M!!! They should have just said Tuesday!!! I am staying up for it though!!

Eh.. all of Verizon's documentation shows .591. I'm not betting on seeing .608 tonight.
I may even just stick with my 419/415/421 hybrid as it's been rock solid in terms of stability, signal, and battery life.

its always a good idea to upgrade to the newest official release from your own carrier.

I would love to try out a hybrid if only I knew how they worked and how to install them!!!

I think I'll be upgrading to it. I'd rather have an official OS rather than a hybrid or leaked or another carriers OS. But, mts mobility with driphter over it is pretty solid. But I'd still rather have my carriers official OS.

Well like I said I read in some previous posts in various threads about the .608 so don't quote me directly on that. Thats what I read, so if it is .591 I already have it.

I'll be upgrading from 4.7.1.61 to whatever this is as soon as VZw gets my new Tour to me to replace this one. It has finally started to give me problems and they are replacing it under warranty. Now I'm just waiting for it to get here.

There is plenty of info on this site. A hybrid basically consists of the best parts of other os versions. You install the base os that you want to run. Then install they hybrid, which overwrites some files with better versions, then run shrink a os( lets u delete stuff you don't want on the phone before the install) and reduce the os overall size.

Then its just a matter of backing up your data and third party apps, wiping the phone, and reloading the new, shrunk os with the hybrid files..

NO. There is zero info available to even suggest that .608 exists. Verizon has already stated in their documentation that .591 is the OS. Everyone is getting all excited for .608 and I hate to say it, but people will be disappointed with .591. The browser click issue is a major bug! No thank you Verizon. I'll stick to my Hybrid.

Any way that they could have fixed that after it was leaked and the 591 we get is not the same as the leak, just the same number?

I will install the leak and the official and see if all the creation dates match..

that will be an interesting comparison. let us know what you find. but, if its different than the leak, then why would they release the same version number. doesnt make sense, which leads me to believe its the same OS.

Well a leak is a leak, something they were not ready for us to have. It could be possible that they could have fine turned a few files and will ship it out. When u look at modules in the core apps they all have version numbers so it would make sense to just fine tune rather than start over with all new numbers.

But who knows it could be 591, it could be this imaginary 608, it could be what ever they name it. Time will tell

2 hours, 56 minutes to go
