I've found themes that show calendar and email previews, why are there none that show sms previews?

    Or, are there?

There are plenty that show EMAIL previews, and CALENDAR previews, but I've yet to see one that shows SMS previews when 'mousing over' the sms icon.

The two themes that I have installed are BBampd (Silver) and Hypeaereon Sliq 9600. Both themes have ALL today previews (SMS, MMS, e-mail, etc.).

I have Hypaereon Sliq 9600 installed and it doesn't show SMS or Email previews for me. I only see Calendar previews.

    I'm running OS

Messages and SMS Today views only show unread messages. If you read the messages, they disappear from the Today screen. It's the same with Call Logs. Calendar entries are the only Today items that remain on the screen perpetually.

It's a functionality that is built into the OS.

If I get a new SMS, and I roll over the SMS folder, I do not see a preview. If I get a new Email, and I toggle over the SMS folder, I see a preview. If I toggle over the Email icon, I do not see a preview of the new email as well. The mini icon does change (with star) when there's a new message, and the star does go away when I read the message, even on the mini icons (I read somewhere that someone had a problem with the star not going away). Overall, I enjoy this theme enough that these little issues hasn't prevented me from using it. I know you said no customizations would be made either, so I never brought it up.

Try going into your messages application and going to Options. Set your SMS and Email inboxes to be separate.
In just about every iteration of the OS and Plazmic, I've never seen resized homescreen icons refresh. Are you by any chance running OS 5.0? Could the update possibly have a fix in it?

If I separate my inboxes, SMS still doesn't work. Email still shows up in my main messages inbox, but doesn't show up in my Email inbox (by showing up, I'm talking about previews). And yes, I stated in my first post that I was using OS That might be why my icons are refreshing properly (and also why my other functions aren't working properly!)

Possibly, yes. I have no idea why SMS preview doesn't work - though I can only test in the 4.6/4.7 simulator for Plazmic. Most other people I've talked to have no problem with SMS preview on the 8900 and I know from experience that it works on the 9630. Apologies.

Possible problem is that the plazmic is beta...

I get a weird issue where if I make a today+ theme with messages and calendar entries (two separate today items, not using the "today area"), the highlight bar doesn't display properly on the entry items for messages but works for calendar items...

Like I said, it's not that big of a deal. The theme is quite nice, and hopefully when OS 5 is fully out for the Tour, you'll be able to fix the glitch. Thanks for your hard work!

its the 5.0 builds that don't work properly with the plazmic custom made themes.. plazmic has not updated their software to handle the new 5.0 just yet. that and the Tour users are using unofficial 5.0 builds.. haha :X

i do not see SMS previews as well, i don't even remember seeing email previews :O but then again, i have berrypopup so it doesn't really matter. what does bug me is that the sms-contact icons i've added to my homescreen using the 5.0 BBM doesn't refresh properly >:|

Ermm...I started this thread precisely because it DOESN'T work on my 9630...

My bad, you're referring specifically to your theme, sorry. I'll try it now.

    Edit 2:

Nope, no go. No SMS preview

That is puzzling to me. I have no issues whatsoever and I think the fact that it happens across themes points to a different source of the problem. I have no idea what that could be.

Maybe try deleting all SMS messages stored on your device, sent and received, and then doing a battery pull?

Okay I'll try that. And I should note that I'm on .231, so maybe that's the problem. I never thought it was just your theme.

I know....my point was I don't know if it's a theme issue at all. It sounds as if there is some sort of Today preview bug in 5.0, perhaps?

I don't understand why people install a totally unofficial, leaked, probably buggy OS and then complain when stuff doesn't work.

The SMS preview on the Today+ theme worked on my Tour with the 4.7 OS. But after I installed 5.0 it stopped working as the OP stated. I was thinking it has something to do with the threaded SMS feature and the fact that it is still beta. Hopefully when 5.0 makes it official the functionality will be corrected. I wonder devices such as the Storm2 that have the offcial 5.0 OS have any issues with this.

I don't know why people take the time to complain about people compaining ... in this case the OP isnt even complaining. The OP has noticed a problem with the beta OS and is turning to this community for help. Isnt that how things are corrected before they become official? Problem observed -> problem corrected. If I dont like the thread, I disregard it. Is it really any sweat off anyones back?
