Should be ManLaw. I saw something that said November of this year for Verizon on these forums but I still wouldn't put a lot of credence into that. Like the rest have said, when it's ready, they'll release it.
According to Crucial Xtreme it is very soon. And personally I think it will be on or before September 10th, because that's when the new BIS is supposed to roll out and certain features are only compatible with 5.0. So, how could it be rolled out and no-one have 5.0? ;)

I'd love an official release in the next couple weeks! I want that threaded SMS sooo bad. Hope I'm not let down! lol
thats 1 of the only features i miss coming from a windows mobile device

You shouldn't be let down. Threaded SMS is pretty sweet. Things are much more organized and the user interface looks very similar to BBM 5.0. The 160 character limit is much less annoying as well because once the field is full all you have to do is hit enter to send what you have then continue typing and hit enter once done to send the rest. It's just like BBM, no more double clicking the trackball to send your txt. The only time I've even had to access the menu in the text app is if i need to add more than one recipient.
