I got a BlackBerry Tour as a gift from someone who was on Verizon (yeah, lucky me!).

But I live in Canada! Will Telus accept it if I get the Blackberry Tour unlocked?

Unlocked refers to the GSM side of the phone. Now it is possible to get the phone working on Telus but its a bit more difficult. If you get the lockcode for manually programing the phone from Verizon and find a Telus rep who will put it on the account for you it will work just fine!

What are the chances any of that is possible. I heard Telus does not activate foreign ESNs...

Pretty much next to impossible. Telus (and Bell) do not activate foreign ESNs.

I've seen it done before so it is possible....just unlikely
