How long does it take to restart your Tour? Some people claim times of approx 3:30 mins. Others claim it is faster than the 8830.

Does anyone know what factors influence your bootup time? I have rebooted mine when I have installed or deleted applications and it takes OVER 10 minutes to return to the home screen!! Is there something wrong with my device? Please comment on your experiences.

FYI - This is the Sprint version of the Tour and it has over 100MB of memory available.

Generally 3 to 5 minutes. There is no reason it should take 10 minutes? Im not sure why it takes so long for you.

your data for the poll might be a little skewed because not everyone who comments or votes is running the same os on their tour. These sub 4 minute times are usually with an updated operating system.

I can believe 3 minutes doing an alt+shift+del, but from a battery pull to homescreen in under 3 minutes, no way. . .not on a stock os. Not calling you a liar, I'd just need to see it to believe it.

even with all the tweeking i've done i can't get 3min flat, and I'm running 137 free.

shrink-a-os lets you delete all that. if you're running an irtehun hybrid it's part of the process, but if you're not you can dl shrink-a-os here
    BBHybrids.net - Blackberry Hybrids: Downloads / Desktop Tools / Shrink-A-OS

there is good directions on how to use it somewhere in the tour hybrid thread but it is burried pretty deep. they have like 3900 commments now. try it out and send me a pm if you run into difficulty. glad to help ya. i'll be around for the next half hour or so.

Okay so I've loaded several different hybrids and OS's and Leaked OS's on my Tour. I've shrank them all with every load. I did what Driphter said in post #10 and my tour always seems to take 6-9 minutes to boot up. Is there any other way to reduce that time. I've seen claims of shorter boot up times.

I'm with Verizon and it takes 6-8 minutes to re boot. Annoying as ****. I'm guessing 5.0 OS will relieve this.

5.0 will relieve the long rebooting time. With OS 4.7 it felt like forever and was kind of annoying. OS 5 is much faster in my opinion.
