I have a Tour 9630 with Sprint. Sprint released the 5.0 system software update and I tried doing a wireless update from within the device itself from 4.7.



After over 12 hours of waiting, the installation had not completed. So I did a power reset on the phone.



Now the phone will come up and attempts to do the update but still after hours of waiting for the backup to complete, it will get to 100% on the backup and stop.



Is there any way to make the update stop?

If you have access to a computer why don't you download BB Desktop Manager and run update from there.

I wish RIM would remove the wireless update option. Like mentioned use a computer to do the upgrade.
