    Hi there.
I have an opportunity to buy (used) a Curve or a Storm for $200 to get ready for the Tour. As I've never owned a Blackberry, I want to get something that I can use to get used to the OS while I wait for my contract to end.

Which should I get? Both are the same price.

Why dont you just save up your money for the Tour? Just stick it out with your dumbphone til your contracts over.

I agree with meyer1131. Save your money for the tour and some accessories instead of buying a storm or curve to tide you over. The tour will be out in 5 days, so you'll have plenty of time to get used to it once you buy it.

Agreed. With the Tour coming out, the values of the Storm and Curve should be dropping a little. I picked up a used Pearl off of Craigslist for $50 to get a feel for how Blackberries work. While using SureType isn't quite the same as using a QWERTY keyboard, the basic operation is the same.

i traded my HTC XV6900 Touch for a Curve last week...that's a better deal to prepare for the tour

I'd just use a bb simulator if i were you if you already have a spare phone. Seems pointless to buy a phone for a week just to get used to the way things work when you can do that on your computer for free

    BlackBerry - Smartphone Simulators

Just get the 8900 it should be the closest to the tour which they're all basically the same just look different

If your dead set on getting used to it. I recommend a curve for the simple fact I have a storm and it took awhile to get used to the text input you wouldn't want to learn all that then put it to waste by switching over to QWERTY. There would be no reason to get a storm honestly in your situation and in my opinion
