Ok so I have tried numerous times to update my OS to 5.0 but my DM keeps showing me only a 4.7 update!! Its driving me nuts!! Maybe it's the computer I am using? which SUCKS. I am used to using a macbook but my puppy chewed thru my powercord. So if you are in the bay area and are a crackberry addict that can help me PLZ HELP!!!!!

Did you download 5.0 its not available by update.

Yeah OS5 isn't official for the Tour.

Assuming the old OS (4.7) is uninstalled and the new OS (5) is actually installed, you can try loading it on your phone with this instead of DM:

So i plug my tour into my USB, then go to the control panel on my computers desktop and uninstall 4.7 from there?

I supposedly downloaded the 5.0 link but like I said it keeps bringing up the DM. But was told I cannot use DM to install the 5.0 update.

I had this problem initially, where it wouldn't show up. You have to install the 4.7 base OS on your computer. Then you install the 5.0 OS. After you shrink your 5.0 OS, you copy the contents of the folder of your 5.0 install into the directly into the 4.7 folder. It should show up with BBSAK when you select "Load OS"

The OS is installed to your PC, not just the BB.

You don't need to plug the phone in, just uninstall the Blackberry device software for the Tour from your PC.

I downloaded BBSAK v1.3 and for some reason even though my phone is connected through USB its not connected to my pin. More blips. AKA more annoying. I need someone in the bay area to show me this sh*t

Ok so I am connected to BBSAK, and I backed up my device with DM.. so do I wipe the device with BBSAK then Load the OS also with BBSAK?

You can just follow the guide that someone linked earlier:

Post 2 is where you backup 3rd party apps
Post 3 tells you how to wipe the device
Post 4 tells you how to load the OS

You shouldn't have to do the uninstall/install new OS stuff in Post 4 though because you supposedly did that already when you installed OS5.

So I finally loaded the 5.0 OS.. now Im just waiting on all the reboots and what not.. thank you both for your help! I will probably ask you stuff in the future! (if thats OK) lol

Don't forget to re-send the service books after the data restore.

What does that do?? i have been getting emails and texts n phone calls so what will that do?

Basically a safety measure to make sure that email/browser/etc continue to work, but if it's working already you're prolly fine.
