    When I connected my Tour to Desktop Manager it showed a bunch of updates to the pre-installed applications, including some core applications.

    I noticed this too when I went to load my contacts on it from the backup I made with my Curve, I didnt install them yet. My Tour I picked up this morning came with .40.

    Research in Motion has adopted an upgrade policy similar to Microsoft with their Automated update service.

    When the carrier decides the software need upgrades, they will make it very easy for a typical owner to say current.
