it is slow when "requesting" it stays there for a 10 to 30 seconds some times before loading page. then starts loading the page and it flys. any one have the same issues, i have noticed it on both mine and my wifes tours running 4.7, 5.0(230) and 5.0(419)

    any ideas would be great

also facebook, myspace, twitter apps all do the same.

well, the browser is and has always been the achilles heel of blackberries. If you need something thats browser based, you may want to consider switching phones. I carry a Tour for texting, talking, push notifications, etc.., and a pixi for the internet, multimedia, and social networking

I've noticed the same issue going from 4.7 to 5.0.0.419. Hopefully this will be something that is fixed in the official release. It's not always constant, I've had times where it has requested for up to 30 seconds and sometimes pages open within a few seconds. .419 is still beta so I'm not complaining, there will be some tweaks with the official release........we hope!

Mine's always like this, very slow.

But I'm almost positive it's my carrier (Cellular South, CDMA) and my location (Mississippi) that cause this.

I hate to say it but I've just learned to live with it.

I'm to the point of going back to my curve. I feel it was quicker. Verizon is supose to have the largest 3g network yet att tmo and sprint phones are out performing my verizon phones hands down (blackberrys only, I know that the iphone is faster but I don't like them). When I had alltel I never had any problems but since verizon took over I have nothing but problems.

Run a hybrid with .421 files in it. These are known to produce a blazing browser with minimal requesting period. Or you can turn off encoding which will also result in faster load times but sometimes won't render a page correctly.
