    Hi,
Last night I was hit with this Reload Software 552 message. I figure I have to reload my software, so I might as well take this opportunity to check out 5.0. Problem is, I have no idea what I'm doing. I can get the phone away from this error screen and my searches haven't turned up specific instructions. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Download OS 5.0.0.230. Once it's done downloading install it on your computer. After it's installed on your computer open up Desktop Manager and it will inform you that there is a software upgrade available. Just load it onto your BB

OS 5.0 is great. After getting the 552 error 3 times with 4.7 I switched to 5.0 and it's working great.

EDIT: And if you're up for it check out this thread http://forums.crackberry.com/f95/lea...hybrid-370947/ about installing a hybrid over OS 5.0, which is even better than the original.

Yes, good instructions there. I knew that was floating around here somewhere on the site, just wasn't sure where exactly

if you little fiddling with your phone you could always install straight .230 for practice, then the hybrid later once you're comfortable with the process. even vanilla .230 is way ahead of 4.7.

Thanks for the help. .230 installed successfully and I luckily had a pretty recent backup for my contacts and other things. I guess the moral of this story is to actually read all of the instructions instead of just glossing over everything. Good ol Crackberry wizards!
