Is there any difference between using the lock button/auto lock in holster versus just having the phone go to sleep when in the holster - batterywise? Or even holding the mute key (standby). Any of the three conserve battery anymore than the other two? I haven't have any battery problems, but just wondering what would be best to use just to be sure i'm getting the best battery life i can. And is there anyway to disable led notifications when holstered?

also, a few case/holster descriptions mention trackball protection, and the OEM holster has the slots for it, but what exactly do they protect? if the phone is in sleep mode, the trackball wont be selecting/clicking anything.

Auto-lock will probably drain a bit more battery, as you need to unlock it everytime to use it. Holster would conserve the most, it is instant off, while the mute key is a slow fade off.

Protects the ball from pressing into your phone constantly, thus likely to last longer.
