I was originally on 5.0.0.230 beta, I believe, and I plugged my Tour in to see if there were any updates through the Desktop Manager. I chose to do all the updates that were available. After the updates were finished I noticed that I am now on 5.0.0.419.

First off, am I on the "official" release, or still the beta? I doubt the Desktop Manager would update you to a beta release. I read a few threads and there were some mixed opinions on whether or not they differ from each other.

Second, should I update through the official download from blackberry.com or just leave it at .419 that was updated through the Desktop Manager?

.419 is an official release from MTS mobility, so yes, it's the real thing :]

Beforehand, .419 was a leak many weeks prior to this, turns out its the same thing but sometimes people just want to hear it from the carriers.

Saskel also released 419 so that is probably why you got updated. It is official from your carrier.
