New to Blackberry, so please bear with me. When my wife call my Tour from the home phone (which is listed in my Contacts), it shows on the Tour screen as private number. On my old moto phone is showed as "Home Phone". I have seen some info on this topic in other threads, but none are Tour specific. Any ideas? Thanks.

Do u have your landline set to caller id blocking? she may have to dial *82 before calling you

my does the same. my number is blocked so my blackberry reads it as private even though it's in my contacts. The phone can't identify the caller

Thanks for input. No my landlines phone is not set to caller ID blocking. In fact, I have handsets with "talking" caller ID, so I hear either their name (if they are in my landlines phonebook) or their phone number when they call, with two exceptions; 1. wireless callers are announced as wireless caller if not in my phonebook, and those with caller ID blocked as announced as private caller. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

maybe try to update the contact list by using the area code, and also the 1 before the area code. Something like this.

555-1215
805-555-1215
and
1-805-555-1215
