what phone replaced the 8320 if it was the 8330 they did that because that was an update to the curve. The Niagara is not necessarily an update to the curve but to he world blackberries I think.
Yeah 8900 is replaced 8320.. ooops Misspriss is right that BB tour will replace a BB world more likey than curve..

I think it will run around the same price as the bold, and I think the release of the 9630 will replace the 8830 because everyone's been talking about how it's a world phone. It's closer to the 8830 than the 8300
Yeah you are exact accurate! Sorry, i was confuse with 8330 and 8830. Yes its 8830, not curve.

I think you can look at the starting price of an 8830, and compare it "very" similar to that. Remember, the 9630 truly replaces the 8830, not the 8330.

Yea the 8830 is 239.00 or one year without the discounts which would be very good if the Niagara is the same price.

The joke is that he is a ****** who claims to work for Verizon.

As for the price, im going to go ahead and say it will carry the Bold's introductory price for AT&T.

you're so pathetic. Do you feel so low about yourself that you have to go onto forums and attempt to insult people? You really should see a shrink about that.

Why is this thread so long for speculation purposes?

Seriously - take a wild-a$s guess to figure out price and release date.

In case no one noticed, the economy is in the tank, and these things will NOT sell with the volume of the 8830 or 8330 when they were released. There are too many "usable" devices in the market today (i.e. 8700-series) that won't be upgraded by companies whose employees were used to "Flagship" (why the capital "F" above?) devices.

I take my employer very seriously, and what I posted is exactly what we were told when we found out we were out of storms at every store, online AND through phone sales. It was a rough week because storms got delayed here to send there for more demand, etc.

The Storm is a CONSUMER device meant to "extend" the BB brand to people who were jumping from Verizon > AT&T. Have you seen those numbers?

My wife (who never had a BB before) got it for $49 the DAY it was RELEASED.

Maybe you should go back to business school - or kindergarden - to see the difference in device positioning, since I'm pretty sure you lack a degree in Marketing.

The Tour - as a business-oriented device - will struggle with businesses cutting spending, and there is less of a rush to get it out.

Two generations of iPhones influenced Verizon to get something out (which clearly wasn't production-ready with .65 or .75) before the end of 2008.

Talk of Storm 2 shows that the Storm 1 was indeed rushed to market.

And regarding "emergency shipments" - the lack of inventory was due to POOR PLANNING and the rigmarole over .65 vs. .75.

Maybe you forgot about the software version-number sticker-swap fiasco and/or split between Storms produced in Mexico vs. Canada?

to answer your ? about the price. the one year price the majority of the time is $70 more on verizon then the 2 yr, as for the actual 2 yr price we dont have enough to go on yet, it could start out on promo or go on promo a few weeks after like the hub... but there is no way it will be less then 150 and def wont be more then 250 so it's not a bad price range...because it will prob replace the 8830 not the 8330 and they are getting the pearl flip too which would be the low end one so i don't think there has ever been a bb on vzw more then 250 even when the 8830 came out, correct me if i am wrong. and it obv wont go below 150 or that would just be amazing!
