I just recently updated my BB Tour to 5.0

After doing the install i plugged in my BB to my USB

BBSAK recognizes it and so does DM

But when i click on Start and My Computer the BB isn't recognized in the J drive

    (Running Windows XP)

I installed my mp3 to make sure that the USB port was good

The PC recognized my mp3 Player (so no issues there)

I then moved the BB to another USB and i'm still getting the same results

Also before i did the update my PC was recognizing My BB in the J Drive

It's only after the update to 5.0 am i having these problems

I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem?

Or does anyone have a fix for this issue?

Any info would be greatly appreciated

Have you checked to ensure that Mass Storage Mode Support is enabled?

i remember when i updated my os to .213, i had to plug/unplug my phone to my computer's usb a bit before it finally recognized it, but the new os, .419, fixed it for me

Options > Memory > Set "Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected" to "Yes". Mine was doing the same thing, but this fixed it.

I know the Cable is good because its showing that the battery is being charged

    What is Media Transfer Protocol?

Ok after some tireless searches online i finally found out how to get my pc to recognize my bb

So if anyone else runs into this problem simply follow the directions below

i know they worked for me:

Here’s the step by step instructions on how to get this working:

    On the Blackberry

    1. Go to Option
    2. Go to Memory
    3. Make sure you have the following (this is what I have set up on mine):

    Media Card Support: On
    Encryption: None
    Media Transfer Protocol: On
    Mass Storage Mode Support: Off
Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode when connected: Prompt

Save these setting. Hope it helps any1 who might be going thru the same thing

You may want to check that because if mass storage is off you don't get the option to select auto enable

    You're Right my mistake

i didn't get my P C to recognize my bb until several Battery Pulls

so i believe a combination of the correct setting and battery pulls i was finally able to get the PC to recognize the BB
