Last night after downloading an update for Facebook my connection to any network has gone flat it started out giving me an "sos" now its just an "X" called verizon and the tips they gave did nothing, any suggestions?
Remove and reinsert the SIM card. If this does not work, remove the SIM card. If it is better without the SIM card, then it might be damaged SIM card. Usually SOS has something to do with the SIM card. Also in options>mobile network, make sure network technology is set to 1XEV not Global.
