I searched all the threads but did not find any information on this...

If I upgrade to a 8 or 16 GB memory card for my tour... Will it A. Make it any faster when browsing through my pictures and such? and B. When I put the card in for the 1st time will it automatically create all those folders that are on the 2 GB card that came with the phone?

And formatting the card?.....what is this all about?

Sorry, obviously I am new to this...

Formatting the card makes it usable by your device, and permanently deletes anything that was on the card before the format. Memory cards generally come formatted and ready for use, but that means they could also harbor malware. That may be unlikely, but I always format a new card before using it, just to eliminate that slight risk.

The BlackBerry will create the folder structure automatically.

Cards come in different speed ratings. That's the determinate factor, not capacity. Pete6 has an excellent discussion that's linked in my sig at the link microSD Cards.

I would suggest getting a Class 6 card. They are not that much more and are the fastest you are going to get right now. I have a Class 6 8GB and am very happy with it.
