hey guys im new to blackberry's and very noobish with them so hold back on me

i just picked up a tour for verizon and was wondering what i should do as a new user idk if i have to update it or w.e i just got it september 19th.

Check to see if you need to update it by going to -
options>about

If your OS isn't v4.7.1.53 then yes, you'll need to update the OS.

I would say to just play around with the device first to get somewhat familiar with it and it's basic functions before you go ahead and do advance stuff like update the OS right off the bat, IMO.

You don't NEED to update. In fact, the update was officially released Friday, then pulled Saturday. If you don't know how to update, I'd hold off on updating.
