I bought my 9630 back in august no problems. I recently bought an app from appworld and apparently according to the developer appworld is sending me the 9700 version. Also what is weird when I log onto facebook mobile site it says to download the blackberry 9700 facebook app (look at screen shot).
I am wondering if there is something wrong with me blackberry. Anyone else with a blackberry tour 9630 log onto facebook and it says to download a facebook blackberry 9700 app?
It's reading your user agent (click the link to verify it, it will tell you what it says) incorrectly, not like it's a big deal or anything. Your device isn't broke. There is nothing wrong with it.
However, if the above link shows you as having a 9700 it's def weird. Just reload your OS and see if that fixes it. If it doesn't fix it, I'd suggest a replacement but in all honesty, You'll likely be hard pressed trying to explain what a user agent is to a customer care rep so I'd suggest calling RIM and have them troubleshoot it with you and get them to contact your carrier on your behalf. According to the user agent everything is correct. facebook has been telling offering me the same 9700 download since august 09. The app developer was suspicious at first of me trying to use 1 license for 2 devices. What concerns me is that I have spent lots of money on apps without problems but I am wondering if I have been buying/using apps for a 9700 and if my device were to ever be reloaded if I log into appworld it would now think its a 9630 and I would have to repurchase everything?
I'm experiencing the same issue with the mobile facebook. Asks me if I wanna download bookmark for my 9700, when I am using a 9630. Useragent identifies it correctly though.

same here.. facebook always tells me I have a 9700 even though I have the Tour
if you would read what my problem was you would know its not about facebook the problem is that according to the developer from an app that i bought from app world, appworld is giving me the wrong version of the app because it thinks my blackberry is a 9700 and not a tour

are you talking about facebook that you got off App world? if it makes u feel any better, facebook also thinks I have a 9700 and still calls it the "Onyx" in facebook
I have seen that all the time on my Facebook app, but I didn't download mine from app world (I despise app world... causes me memory leaks...), I got mine from the Blackberry website itself.
When I use pandora it say's the same thing in the ad section it always say's "if you like this song as a ringtone for your blackberry bold click here". But it runs fine 90% of the time the other 10% is somethimes it will freeze after a song.

I am not talking about facebook the app I am having problems with is QuickLaunch for some reason appworld is sending me the 9700 version
