Recently switched to a Tour; on my prior Curve, I could select the number of beeps (1 thru 3) for message notifications; I don't see that option on the Tour and it appears I am stuck with getting 1 beep per SMS, MMS, etc. Am I missing something or is there a work around?
Profiles>Advanced>find the profile you want to edit (for example Normal)>click trackball>scroll down to SMS text and click trackball>scroll down to number of beeps and set it to 3.

Darn, I just did the upgrade from .57 two days ago and I can't remember what was there. All I know is in 5.0.0.238 hybrid that it has:
Ring Tone:
Volume: silent to 10
Count: 1, 2, or 3
Play sound: in/out of holster, always
LED: od/on
Vibration: off, on, custom
Length, count, vibrate if custom is selected
Vibrate with Ring Tone:
Notify Me During Calls:

I think your looking at the custom vibrate which has nothing to do with the sounds
Nope. See above. It is in the ringtone section. At least in OS5. There are two Counts: one for ringtones, and one for custom vibration. However, this may not be in 4.7.1.57. I don't remember.

I've been dumbfounded by this as well, I can't find it for the life of me. I don't think it's there. One BEEP is all you get no matter the type email, sms, mms, bbm.
I don't think 4.7 has the options for number of rings, beeps, etc. The only option is the number of vibrate. This sucks coming from the Curve when you can set how many beeps, rings, etc.
RIM changed the profiles on the Tour and/or on 4.7.
I've heard/seen that on 5.0 that these options are back, but I haven't tried 5.0.
