Thank you for the info - will try this upgrade and report if there are any improvements.

    Installation instructions:
    1. Download desired OS to your PC
    2. Install/run OS to PC
    3. Delete vendor.xml file. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
    4. Connect the BB to Desktop Manager and it should prompt the upgrade. If not click Loader.exe and that should initialize it.
    5. Do not unplug your BB during the process. It will take around 30-60 minutes to complete the upgrade

Recommend using Shrink-A-OS prior to step 3. Shrink-A-OS should autodetect and delete vendor.xml file but you should check the directory just to make sure it was deleted.

OP: your link is correct but BB site does not allow this direct link. Here is a link that precedes it for Sprint that will work (you have to select BB Tour): https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...BB765225CE8C0E
Tried your link at it brings you to same place mine does where you select your device then it brings you to download site.

Strange, it was not linking before but now does. Will remove mine, then.

Yeah you have to fill out that form on Blackberry's site then accept. I would have posted the other link but it also would post ALL my personal info so I posted the link I did.

Installed the 4.7.1.110 OS - but the "about" option states my platform is 4.1.0.70 - should it not state 4.7.1.110? I am pretty sure the version I installed was 4.7.1.110 as I deleted the previous OS's from control panel, deleted vendor.xml per my own instructions and was prompted to upgrade via DM.

My guess....package number is not the same as a release. So it is package 110 but OS is still .57.

That's what it looks like to me.

Make sure you uninstall previous versions of OS via control panel, then reinstall the newly downloaded OS (reboot after) following the steps in my post above. I could not load the new OS via loader.exe but was prompted and installed the update when I connected the Tour and started DM.

Am curious re. bugs that were fixed with this release.

Yes, but not a major one like 5.0 (when it's officially released) will be - this is more of an update that fixes bugs (wish I knew which ones though).
