Ok so I bought my new tour a few days ago....

Annual discount rebate (Not NE2) pricing = 270.00
Now I got the VIP 50$ off in store = 220.
Then I called global support and got another 50$ off my bill = 170.00
Then I called just now after seeing all blackberrys get a 50$ rebate *cutsomer service rep applied 50$ credit to my bill)= 120.00
Now awaiting my 70$ Mail in rebate = 50.00

Blackberry Tour for 50 bucks!

What is the global support $50 for? I got a $100 NE2, would they still apply the global and extra BB $50 rebate? I was fine with paying $100 for it...

There is a huge thread here that discuses how you can get a 50$ credit for upgrading to a global phone. I called the global support $ and selected option 4, and told the rep about the rebate. He looked it up and gave me a 50% credit to my bill!

Don't you need to order the phone through Global and have the Global Plan ($69/month) to receive the $50 discount?

I bought mine in store and had no problems and I do not have the global plan.....the rep even unlicked mine for free!

I wish I could get more off. My NE2 isn't till May 2010. VZW said I qualify for early upgrade but they wont give me the NE2 $100. They will give me the price of 199. After talking to a supervisor, he said he would meet in the middle and give me $50. But I still would have to pay $150!

I just can't justify paying $150, knowing the price will come down soon-ish, but I would really like to get the Tour now. Jealous of those of you who have one!

What a whiner... they are letting you upgrade almost a year early, and giving you another $50 off. And yet you complain?

Let's put that in perspective. I know someone who was there at the Verizon store 2 hours before they opened on release day waiting to pay the Full retail price of $489.99

It looks like if you order the phone through Global you don't need to sign up for a plan to get the $50. But if you have a Tour already and want the $50, then you need to sign up for a plan as well...

If you get a very reasonable rep, politely explain to them that you are still under your 30 day "worry free guarantee" and you could theoretically return the device and then order it again through their department. Try to coerce them to avoid the lengthy process and just directly apply a credit to your account. Called 3 times, first 2 reps were horrible, and rude. The last one was very polite and applied the credit.

I just ordered the Tour yesterday online. It is waiting for me at home after work. I was planning to call to activate it. Would i be better off not doing so. Calling the number in this thread, and mentioning what you say above? I paid 199

i dunno...i got mine for free...and i didn't do anything...i didn't trade a phone in...i didn't call anyone...i just ordered it off sprint.com and signed a 2 year contract...thats it

i was able to get the 50 credt... with my 100 NE2 and the 70 MIR, my out the door cost of the tour will be 50 bucks!! woo hoo.. THANKS VERIZON

took me exactly twice. first rep had no clue what i was talking about. the second was quite helpful. she offered only 25 bucks at first, but when i told her my friends had received the entire 50, she relented and applied the credit.

Sounds like we are all getting smoking deals. All I did was talk to the reps politely and told them what to do. Just tell them to give you the credit. Dont ask or inquire about it. This is negotiation 101. Tell them to give it to you.

I got my 50 global credit, but I didn't get the additional 50 dollars for the "save a buck" ($50) for buying a Blackberry. Oh well, I'm good with $50 bucks extra plus my MIR.
