So I am thinking of running the 5.0.484 with a Hybrid for my VZW Tour. I am running .591. I am not having the nightmares other people are having, but the Bluetooth is terrible and it is enough to make me switch. Which method of wiping the device is "better". Also I am assuming that if I am wiping the device I don't need to start from 4.7 I can do a 5.0.484 and then run the upgrade.
    Thank you

BBSAK is user friendly and easy to soft wipe the bb. Reloading the os and third party app is a breeze using bbsak

BBSAK for me too.. used it many, MANY times and never a problem once. Very user friendly and makes it a breeze to re-install your apps.

Did you replace the java folder? Or did you run one of the installers?

I did not replace anything. I ran the installer. There was only one installer, It brought me to the shrink OS which I selected what to remove and ran it. It definately ran as I was able to remove certain things. Only thing now is that the time is 4 hours ahead and I can't change it to the correct time. I get a Java error.

+1. I just installed a leak. BBSAK was easy to use to back up my 3rd party apps and wipe my device. Restoring was just as easy.

If you did install Driphter's Dv8.5 hybrid, there is a patch on Driphter's Web-site for that issue called "dv 8.5 date/time patch." You can find it under the "Patches" section.

Then download the patch I referenced and you'll be able to set your time-zone properly.

How is everyone using BBSAK but me? It keeps telling me that BBSAK is expired! And the link the program sends me to, is dead.

My pleasure. I had the same problem, I think I was the first one who reported it at Driphter.com. Driphter described the fix and Shuck7 created an easy patch to download.

Glad that it worked for you, too.

I got the same message, but after I restarted my PC the next day and reopened BBSAK, I was able to use it like always.
