I was wondering if anyone had made any headway on a hack for the Tour 9630 HSPA chip. I know it operates at 2100mhz, but it is also susposed to be able to do 850/900/1800/1900mhz. The fact that this new phone can;t work on Bells new network is a pi$$off.

What hack are you referring to?

    What exactly does that mean?

What he means is that Bell's new GSM network HSPA+ band is not compatible with Tour's 3G band (it ties tour to its still existing EVDO network, at 1x speed = no 3G). Sux, need to get a 9700 for it to work (similar to using Verizon or Sprint Tours on At&t - get EDGE, but no 3G band support).

I was pretty upset also that a few months after buying the Tour, Bell launched the hspa network and wasn't compatible with the Tour. So now the Tour is stuck in paperweight mode and enjoying the 9700 on hspa.
