How to separate sms and email indicators (the tiny ones at the top of the screen)

I just updated my Tour to version 5.0.0.230 and it works great! however, I used to have the tiny envelope indicators at the top of my home screen separated for SMS and regular email. Now they are combined into one indicator.

Does anyone know of a way to separate them again? In my general messages options, I have my SMS/Email set to separate, and I have two different "messages" and "SMS/MMS" icons on my main screen, but the small indicator icons are still combined. Any help?

Nevermind, I figured it out. As soon as I got a new text, a separate icon (a blue message balloon) shows up at the very top of the screen. The traditional envelope icon is just for email after all.
