Just wondering if anyone on here has replaced their trackball on their own? If so, how hard or easy was it? Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

There are both step by step photos and a video. There are some easily breakable clips and/or cables.

Why not return it for repair or get a new unit?

We did, there are a few videos on youtube on how to do it.

Be warned it is not for the weak of heart, we did it to 2 tours and broke the tab off of the top speaker cover of one... and this is a certified sprint repair tech (my brother) and a computer tech/electronics hobbyist (me) working together.

For me it was real easy... Its a simple tast, but you do have to be very, very careful with the top fron cover... Other then that piece of cake!

9630 Trackballs very very easy to replace.

Whats not so easy is changing out bezel,I ordered Verizon's titanum from DealsIShop.
I received it today ,just finished putting on looks outstanding but what a pain in the A taking carrier name plate off bottom , lock and standby buttons out of original putting into new bezel.
