Yes, you can use Excel on your BlackBerry. But, you really can't do but so much on it. I'd say it's more to open and view/review an existing file. There's no fee for the version installed. There is an upgraded version that is not free. I also don't believe that it supports Excel 2007, unless they've updated it. It's been a little while since I've used it.
I do not have a tour, but on a storm you can use excel to go to read and edit excel sheets, but if you want to create a new sheet you must upgrade to documents to go premium. Hope this helps. No fee, unless upgrading.
So, if I were to email an excel sheet from my computer to my phone, will I be able to access it and edit it using my phone without downloading the app?
The docs to go and excel to go is for creating new excel or word documents. You can remove it from your BB and still be able to view Excel and Word documents.
thanks for your help everyone!
It's excellent. That is why I have a smartphone.
I use Excel everyday on my phone. Swtich between worksheets, edit, save. You can fully edit it as in text, rows, columns, widths, etc. Much better than Office Mobile Standard or Professional.
Ok here is a real newbie question. Can i actually load an excell spreadsheet right from my pc to myBB?
If you are actually still visiting this place or maybe someone else knows....
Does the BB Excel version run scripts or macros or whatever they might be called. I really miss my Lotus 123 (yeah, I know) from my HP 200 Palmtop which did run macros.
You can either email the sheet as an attachment or using Mass Storage Mode, copy the file to the SD card (or probably internal memory altho that has limited space for such things).
Thanks, now how do I get to the mass storage mode? Yeah, im really a newbie!
Choose Options icon, Memory, Scroll down and find Mass Storage Mode - turn it on.
Media Card support should also be ON (I'm not sure if makes a difference).
When the SD card shows as a new drive on the computer, you will see the pre-assigned folders that BB creates. I've created some of my own but you can decide where you want your sheet - possibly under the Blackberry/Documents folder. While BB calls it a media card, you can put anything there - some folks use it as they would any usb drive for moving stuff to/from work, etc. Docs, pdf, anything.
Thanks! I'm a newbie to BB but an Oldbie in real life!!!Takes me a while.
We can compare OLDIES!!!! :D - Actually, most of those smilie teeth are mine. But I am eligible for Soc Sec!!!!
