That was a very short review...

The Pre and iPhone got these amazingly in-depth reviews...then again, I guess the Tour is nothing new.

Hmm... the comments about the screen make me uneasy. The black outline is probably not as big as it looks in the pictures but the mushi-ness of the screen... any one with the device care to clarify this?

I'm holding on to my wallet until I hear some solid reviews from day-to-day user of this thing. I'm hopeing nothing is wrong with it.

the screen itself seems to be incredibly sensitive to pressure -- overly sensitive. Even light touches on the screen or some of the navigation keys underneath it caused weirdness with the LCD. This might be a result of the screen being flush or just not being sufficiently secured, but it's somewhat noticeable and a bit annoying. It just feels "softer" than the one on the Bold, and there's a bit more give than we believe there should be.

that bit kinda scares me too

Yeah, but then they go on to say that it is the best Blackberry for CDMA users. Sooooo...I am still getting it lol.

I think it might be Engadget nitpicking. No one else has even mentioned ANYTHING like this, or even hinted about it.

It's just an evaluation model and Engadget is known for nitpicking.

Yeah, but I am guessing they got a near-final evaluation model...

so the last couple days, we have heard about the trackball problems from one reviewer, and now today a screen that seems to be way to sensitive if you touch it or even use the hard keys right under it... thats not cool

But, when you think about it, we have seen numerous videos of this thing in action. Have we ONCE seen the screen act a little weird? Nope.

The vids salomondrin did on the Tour showed no indication of this, so maybe there nitpicking.

Wow they hardly talked about anything in-depth. The photos are "perfectly decent"? No mention of the browser?
Honestly I think that review is horrible, and I generally like Engadget's reviews.

Yeah, ditto on that. They are usually very thorough...

I guess they figured it was just another Blackberry for the masses.

Not sure if you guys listen to the engadget podcast, but they don't really care about the Tour. Their interests lie with the iPhone, Pre, and Android units. I wouldn't give this review any weight.

They "nitpicked" on the Palm Pre too & unfortunately, they were RIGHT. I hope its not the case with the Tour though.

    From BGR:

"Additionally it looks like there’s a harder plastic covering the LCD than there is on the Bold and 8900 and this is a good thing, people. It feels solid, not scratch-prone and is a display that we’re proud RIM has transitioned to as their standard screen for the Tour and other BlackBerry handsets to come."
