Search the forum for 552 error. There are a lot of threads about this.

Whatever was the last app you installed needs to be removed. You can do this with BBSAK. You'll be able to reboot your BB without having to reinstall the OS.

Step one. DON'T CRY! You may get your BB wet!

If you can remember the last app that you installed, use bbsak to delete it. When you hook your BB to bbsak, you will be able to see the programs and software that is on your BB. Remove the last app that was installed and causing you problems.

It may be just as easy, now that you have bbsak, to reload your OS. Either way, THERE IS HOPE FOR YOUR BB! This is a good guide to reload the OS.

How do I Recover a Dead BlackBerry

    So is this.

Here is my process for OS installs. Try it next time!

Try one of those and you'll be back up and running in no time. And remember, there's no crying in BB!

You can also hook up to the desktop manager and remove the last app as well. I have had to do this a few times..

No need to panic, I use BBSAK to intentionally get a software error to wipe every time I install a new hybrid. No matter what happens, BB can always come back from any error

You fried your OS by installing more apps that the app memory can hold. I had that before.
I had to have the OS reinstalled and I lost everything because I didn't do a backup.

The way I see it, if you have to reinstall your OS it might as well be the 5.0 release. It won't be from your carrier likely so you will need to read up on it. Fix this yourself and you will have new confidence in both yourself and your blackberry.

not likely. The Tour has more then enough memory to hold as many apps as you want...

anyway, to the OP.. This is known as "Bricking" the phone. It happens from tiem to time when files become corrupted when your updating an OS or even installing an app that gets messed up during the install.

dont worry, theres a fix for it as others pointed out above
