I am due for an upgrade and was wondering if i could get some opinions...

Should I get a Blackberry Tour 9630 or should I get the new Curve 8530??

The Curve 8530 is a lesser device than the Tour 9630. But you probably should get the Bold 9650.

Don't get either of those devices, but rather, go with the 9650 Bold. Tour isn't bad, but won't be supporting OS6. I refuse to "upgrade" to Bold from Tour (because Bold is basically a Tour with more memory, wifi, and a trackpad, and IMO what Tour should have been a year ago when they released it), but as someone who doesn't have a Tour, you'd be better off with Bold.

the thing is the tour is free and the bold is gonna cost me $200. Also, is OS6 really everything everyone says it is?

It looks that way, the biggest upgrade being the web browsing but other improvements also.

Do yourself a big favor and wait a month or two before upgrading to anything. Then you should be able to see a Bold with OS6 in action, allegedly. It'd be a shame to lock yourself up in a contract for a device you're not sure about...

Actually if you upgrade online it is only $99. You get the rebate instantly. Not free but better then waiting for the rebate.

I agree get the bold. It's solid ,has wifi, and trackpad and has a lot of memory and is a great blackberry.

out of the two def the tour...i had the 8530 and it was pretty much junk...it feels so cheap. seems to me rim just made it to have a cheap bberry to grab new customers who won't shell out 100+ for new phones...and first hand ive seen this work as a great sales strategy. personally go bold, or waiti for torch to come to sprint...or samsung galaxy s (epic) if you like android...epic>evo

In retrospect i wish i would have kept my 8330 a few more months and gotten the bold, instead of the tour. The tour is an awesome device, but would have been much more awesome had it come with wifi track pad and more memeory.

I agree with you Coolguy, I had the same phone and upgraded to a tour before I was due for an upgrade just cuz I was so sick of the old one and two months later the bold came out, definitely wish I would have waited. Either way the tour is still pretty bad ***
